Ten children's books about chickens

This post is dedicated to my sister who once saw a chicken near her apartment in the city. She was so surprised that she called the police who in turn were not surprised nor concerned about this urban chicken. She also had a wild turkey roost outside of her apartment in a different urban center. But I digress, apparently my sister's experiences with poultry and an great number of children's books suggest that chickens are not the demure farmyard dwellers they appear to be. Instead they write books (The Plot Chickens), travel the seas (Louise: the adventures of a chicken) and stroll about in large cities. Thank goodness the publishing world has noticed and blessed us with a spate of funny chicken stories for the young. As an added bonus, I've posted a video of the last author reading his story dressed as a chicken.
